1995 115 hp Evinrude - Bad Idle in Neutral

2 Issues. <br />1 - Motors idles fine at 650 rpm in gear and operates properly at all speeds. In neutral the motor misses. RPM is 700 rpm.<br />2 - The neutral throttle lever on the control box does not engage until approx. 1/2 way up.<br /><br />FYI, motor is V4 90 Degree and has 400 operating hours. Looks and runs like new except for the 2 issues.<br /><br />I am taking the motor to a mechanic in two weeks to be repaired and would appreciate any recommendations prior to having the work done.<br /><br />Thank you.

is motor missing or sneezing?<br />if sneezing a sync and link or thermostat(s) may cure problem have mechanic check it out

the warmup levers on those boxes were and are problematic. the box will need to be dissasembled and the lever slots inspected. if the are not wallowed out the replace the bushing and reinstall he throttle lever using nut lock on the screw. if my commercial guys get a year out of a jonnyrude box they done good.

Need help again. Carbs have been rebuilt. Thermostats and impellor replaced. Motor was set up on dryland by OMC mechanic and had bad idle in forward, neutral and reverse when I water tested. Mechanic watertested and idle was fine in forward and reverse but not neutral due to linkage probrem. Mechanic adjusted both carbs and linkage in water again and runs okay except exhaust on port side of motor is very oily compared to the starboard which is bone dry. Question is the "wet" exhaust due to the carb being set to rich. Was bone dry after the 1st 2 watertests.
