1995 150 Rev-limiter???

Anyone know if this motor has one? I've never hit it but it's nice to know if it exists.<br /><br />Model J150EXEOM <br /><br />Thanks,<br />Rich

It's either at 6200 or 6700 depending on which electronics it has. I THINK it should be at 6200 from the factory on that model but the components can be changed.

My tachs arnt the most accrurate. 58-5900 is typical. If I really trim them up I know I've had them in the low 6's. <br /><br />Is it safe to run them like that for brief periods?<br />They SCREAM but seem to run fine.<br /><br />The boat runs fine too @ 48-52 Mph.

It's a needle bearing 2 stroke motor. Whats to worry? As long as they are running properly and there is a load on the prop you can twist em til you decide not to.
