1995 21' Sea Cat, jack plates and trim tabs - anyone ever seen this done?

I have a 1995 Sea Cat that had twin 70s (28 MPH WOT) on the back of it when I got it. I am going to a pair of 90s but I have a few problems. 1) the V-4 engine is about 2 " longer than the 70S. so far I cannot get the 90s as high as they need to be by bolting to the transom. 2) The boat generally has a bow too high problem and begins porposing if I trim the motors up much.

my answer = a set of 12" manual jack plates and a set of electric trim tabs, which would fit in between the motors and the hull, without the jack plates it would be impossible to install trim tabs. This will block the ladder entrance on the back of the boat, because the steering rod will be in the way, but I can find another way to get in/out of the boat.

Has anyone ever seen this tried and what were the results, or what do you THINK will be my result. I am hoping for 35 MPH plus at WOT and a more balanced ride.

I THINK that the trim tabs in front of the engines would be a bad idea.

My thought is to put the tabs in the usual location and add a swim platform on the ladder side

better yet, some props with better stern lift

the sea cat is a twin hull boat, there just is not much room to put the trim tabs, they would be kinda side ways to the motor not horizontal. you would have to see the back of my hull to understand, it will not let me upload a pic, but you can google seacat and you will see what I mean. I defiantly agree that the right props could help a bunch, I have done some research and found other seacat owners that have had great results with different props.

there really is not a lot of room between the motors and side of the hull. what length boat is yours sparkie?

thanks mate, i completely missed the 21, my 9month old was trying to eat my nose whilst i was reading it.
i think i have found a CL add with about as similar boat as I could to his.

thats the one that I was trying to upload, thanks mate. Yeah I don't see how you could fit tabs on there without having them on serious angle.

that last pic is pretty much it... here are a couple of pics I found...but they did not use jack plates.
