HI, I HAVE 1995 FORCE 70 HP THAT WONT START,NO SPARK AT ALL 3 PLUGS WHICH ARE NEW.
STARTED AND RAN FINE FOR THE FIRST TRIP OF THE SEASON,STOPED FOR LUNCH AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART.I SUSPECT LANYARD SWITCH ON SHIFT?
I HAVE CONTINEUTY THROUGH THE SWITCH WHEN IT IS IN THE OFF POSTITION AND NONE IN THE RUN POSTITION. COULD THIS BE A NORMALY OPEN SWITCH IN THE RUN POST. AND GROUND OUT WHEN IT CLOSES,IF SO THE MOTOR SHOULD RUN WITH THE WIRES JUST PULLED OFF THE SWITCH? NOW I DONT THINK IT IS THE LANYARD SWITCH BUT I DONT KNOW WERE TO GO FROM HERE,I HAVE TOOLS,AND A STANDARD VOLT/OHM METER, ANY IDEAS. THANKS PAUL

You could test the Stator Coil blue wires for elec output at their quick disconnects.

------------------

Connect one blue to a ground on motor.
Vx10AC volt scale. Black meter lead to gnd on motor. Red lead to second blue wire.
Crank for few seconds. Needle should move.
Never black meter lead to a blue stator wire.
Switch everything to test the other blue stator wire.

------------------
