1995 70hp rude possible bad vro filling crankcase full of fuel?

ok at the dock as normal go to prime motor ball doesnt get hard after 6 to 8 pumps as normal then change tanks ball still dont get hard

just took engine cover of and pulled number 3 plug and turned over engine and about a half gallon of fuel came out:facepalm:


so does anyone have thoughts on this could the diaphram in the pump be bad letting all the fuel pass trough the pulse line


and what to do about a crankcase full of unburnted fuel

forgot to say oil side of pump is disabled run premix

It sounds like you've nailed it Bob.
You could pull the pulse hose off the vro then prime it with the bulb to see if any fuel comes out.

Check the primer solenoid manual lever. It may be in the manual prime position!

well this morning pulled of the pulse hose to the pump
and gas flows out as fast as i pump the ball

now what to do buy a gas only replacement pump looks like a vro for 350.00 bucks
or buy an older 3 port pump for around 80.00 bucks and modify gas lines and bracket to make it work

Two choices. Get the 3 port pump or else the kit to rebuild the fuel side of the vro pump.

I have a working VRO pump off my 1989, don't know if it will work for you or not.
