just picked up a 1995 9.9hp Evinrude model E10EOEE. It hade been sitting in a shed down by a lake for at least 2 years unused. the brass parts in the carb are tarnished green. whats the best stuff the try and remove the green?
Brasso works really good. You could even soak the brass parts in a solution of vinegar and table salt. but then rinse it in some baking soda and water mixture to neutralize the vinegar and salt mixture. Either of those ideas work really well. JMHO
got er cleaned but now I need to know whats the initial setting for the rich/lean needle? tried the good old omc 1-1/2 tuens out from lightly seated but that doesn't seem right. I'm not familiar with this newer style carb.
