I bought a boat with a bad 120 Force and was thinking on replacing it with a 1998 115 Johnson but before I buy it would the 115 be enough power for this heavy boat to pull skiers at high altitude?
Any Thoughts

Welcome to iboats!

Before I saw your second post I was ready to reply by saying the Johnson probably puts out the same or a little more than the Force. However, I'm not positive; I don't know when they changed how outboards were rated. Worst case scenario, you are looking at a drop of less than 5% anyway.

I seem to remember hearing bad things about the FICHT motors, though. Ask over in the Johnson & Evinrude area.

Thanks Bob
I did a lot of homework before I bought it. The problem ones are the 150-200 V6 the v4s are supposed to be solid I was mainly worried about pulling Skiers with a smaller motor in Colorado. Still really glad you replied.

The 115 will do the job just fine. I have a 2000 1802 capri cuddy, with a 90 Merc and a 19p prop. It does everything I need it to do, gets up on plane quick and stays there
