I have a 1995 150hp blackmax. The previous owner disconnected the oil injection system. There are a couple thin black hoses mising that go from the carb to the cylinder head. Since I am premixing can I just plug the holes? I have not ran the motor since I had it and dont want to mess it up. I believe the lines are for the oil but I am not sure. Thanks

The thin lines are fuel bleed lines connected between check valves in the reed plate and the opposite cylinder to bleed off pooled fuel behind the reeds. It won't run for chit if they aren't in good shape, especially at idle. They have absolutely nothing to do with the oil injection.

Sounds like the PO was a hack. I'd go through the whole setup with a jaundiced eye, starting with compression. If compression is good, everything else is fixable, and you have a fine engine that won't crap out or throw parts at you without notice.

List includes:
Fuel pump
Carburetors (new gaskets, check adjustments)
Bleed lines and check valves
visually inspect reeds. (pull the plate while the carbs are off.)
link-n-sync.
fuel system from tank to fuel pump.

and, of course, the always suspect water pump.

hope it helps
John
