First, Please be gentle, I am new and don't pretend to know much. I removed the 5 bolts to drop lower unit to check for sand, trash, as suggested by someone I shouldn't have listened to. Lower unit dropped about 3 inches, I looked and saw it was clean, bolted it back in place. Now engine will not go into neutral, assume something happened with the shift rod. PLEASE don't get technical, but what can a poor boy check and hopefully do to fix this mess.
