I?m a new owner of a 27? 1995 Hydra-Sports w/twin 225 Ocean Pros. The port motor (counter roto) bogs down after about 20 mins of running on plane. The RPM?s drop and sometimes it will stall out. It fires right back up and I can run it at idle speed w/no problems, then I?ll throttle it up, sometimes it runs for another 5-10 mins then bogs down or it will bog down immediately.
I?ve gone through 2 water separators, replaced the priming bulb and have checked the fuel lines from the water separator to the in line filter, all clean. The priming bulb never appeared collapsed.
I need to check the anti-siphon valves on the tank and on the water separator. I also haven?t checked the fuel line from the tank to the separator. Any other suggestions?
Another thing I noticed is that the oil level in the port tank drained faster than starboard tank. I?m pretty sure they were at the same level when I bought the boat. Could it be a fuel/oil mixture problem?

You may have an air leak in the fuel system. Definitely check the anti siphon valve first, i think its located on top of the gas tank. Did you have someone pump the ball as the motor bogged down? This would indicate fuel starvation/ air leak. Also, do you notice more smoke form that motor?

I didn't notice any unusual amount of smoke and I didn't have anybody priming the ball either. Is removing the anti-siphon vavle a staight forward procedure?

Real easy, right on top of tank next to sending unit. Remove and check to see if clogged. Also look for bubbles in fuel filter while running.
