This weekend I started up my boat and it would not idle and WOT was only 4500. To make a long story short I was not getting spark on the number one cylinder. There had been multiple times when placing the cowl I have knocked off the top coil wire. I have read here that running the motor with the wire disconnected can knock out the switchbox. I had saved the original switchbox so I put it on yesterday and it worked. Idle and WOT are back up where they should be. I'm glad I saved that swichbox. I suppose running the motor with the wire not grounded burns out the power transistor.
