1995 GM 305 Merc 5.0 v8 190 HP :(

2 barrel merc carb only puts out 190 HP so i'm thinking about putting in a 4 barrel to get 220 HP.
Anyone ever done a conversion? Is there a kit that can be purchased for the DIYer? then
have a real marine shop dial it in with a lake test??

Its called the 5.0 LX

Your 2 bbl puts out 200HP, the 4 bbl puts out 220/225 depending on year. Its just a manifold and carburetor swap and can be done at home.

Given your location, if you boat in the salt and raw water cooled, you will need a cast-iron intake or an aluminum one with bronzed water passages.
