1995 johnson 150

What is is the life (hours) of a 150 hp 1995 well maintained Johnson.
I see people asking questions about motors that are 50 years old.
I think its about 4,000 hours . but if you tell someone its got a 1,000 hours on it they think its shot

It should be good for the DIY'ers, paying a pro to maintain a 20 yr old outboard is like throwing good money after bad.
So , many of them die from neglect.

I got my 94 150hp when the yard told the owner it wasn't worth paying to fix, so he "invested" in new Etec's.

I installed a power pack and did a decarb, runs great.

A carb rebuild and oil change can run almost $1000 in a busy shop , so at some point the average boater cuts their losses.

I don't know what the hrs are on mine, and I don't care.
