Hello folks,
Started having issues last summer with this motor seeming to lose power, has low rpms as well. Initially suspected fuel to be issue, removed carb, disassembled, cleaned and reassembled with new carb kit. It starts and appears to idle well, just has no power under a load - should note that I am using fresh fuel as well. After running, I removed both spark plugs, bottom plug looked normal, top plug was wet with fuel. After drying plug off and trying motor again, it may sometimes run normal for a short bit then lose power. It appears as though the top cylinder isn't firing for some reason, or maybe intermittently. At this point I'm thinking it may be a bad coil or something like that? I have also replaced the spark plugs as well with no change.
Hoping someone else with more experience on this sort of issue can give some better direction what the cause could be.
