1995 johnson 70 hp

Well im back to my old johnson.....the 90 force i have..is blown up....ok..the johnson
1. when it's cold it run great...after it get hot it won't run over 3400 rpm.....not sure what it is.....thanks for the help guys

Could be overheating and going into the "SLOW" mode. But it usually will not run past 2000-2500 RPM's if this is the case. Did it run good the last time you had it out? Any other changes been made since then? You might try unplugging the temp sensor lead (Brown) at the motor and see if it runs out..You may also be dropping a cylinder (No Spark). Test using a timing light on each plug wire to see if they are all firing. Could be a coil failing after it heats up...
