Ok so I am going to replace my plugs , cap , rotor and wires due to what looks like a slight miss and idle.
Boat is new to me (7/4/16) .
I want to check the timing after , before I take it in for a tune up. But the timing marks are gone. The metal tooth plate is there but no markings.
All the paint has lifted off .
Any one have a picture so I can verify the timing before I take it in ..

This might help! I always mark the notch with a piece of white chalk to make it easier to see. Also if you clean the tab up real good you might see them because they are stamped in the metal.

I had a similar problem.
Once I cleaned the timing marks up with a wire brush so I could read them, I then covered them with clear nail polish.

If you have points or DDIS ignition timing is set at 8 BTDC
If you have EST it is set at 1 BTDC in base timing mode

Just looking to double check. If it's off I will have a proper tune up done . I know the carb needs adjusting ( I messed with it ) trying to get the RPM's down .
But at low RPM it moves a bit much for me , looks like it might be a miss.
I hope the plugs and stuff might fix it.
I just re-pluged and drilled the front motor mount out as it would not tighten.
Checked it out with an endoscope and the wood was dry and yellow so no rot. I think it my have just vibrated the screw out a bit.
Just don't want to chance that the timing was off and caused undue vibration .

Make sure you check your alignment

Alignment should be just fine . Bolts where holding but felt like they could not be torqued down. Removed , drilled , plugged and replaced one at a time . never had to move the mount .

SO I had to replace the starter as the PO had a car starter installed. Did it my self , not bad at $65
Just got it back from the shop after having a water pump kit installed . What a rip ! $156 for a kit better be GOLD plated ...
But I will say he fixed my speed-o , speed-o coupler (?) was bad . Only cost $18 for the part.
1 hr 50 min labor for water pump kit , speed-o coupler and pressure test.. not bad .
Had it in at a different shop 3 weeks ago and had a ( tune-up) . Timing was spot on but they had to adjust the carb. $98 no parts .
Idles very well now . No miss at all . $98 well spent .
