I'm confused about routing the lower shift cable on an Alpha 1 Gen 2 with a Merc 4.3. I've used some electrical wire to to follow the diagram in the attached file, but when I read the instructions, step 11b tells me to route the cable under the starboard rear engine mount and turn toward the transom.
I ran a wire through the cable jacket prior to removing the old cable, but the routing was nowhere near what's in the diagram.
Am I missing something?
