1995 merc 60 hp lower oil

How much oil should be in the lower foot of a 1995 60hp mercury tracker outboard. Just changed mine and it only took about a half of quart. I put it in per the manual using the lower bottom hole until it started coming out the one vent hole, closed that vent hole and continued putting in oil until it started coming out of the other vent hole and then plugged it. Then plugged the inlet hole. A half quart or so just does not seem like it is enough. Thanks

Sounds about right. My 90 and 115 Mercs took/take 20 oz as I recall. A 32 oz. quart bottle with the pump from wallyworld will fill 1 but not 2 lower units of mine.

I think you are good. According to Merc's gear lube capacity charts, a 95 60hp would take about 340 ml of lube or 11.5 ounces. If you pumped it slow from the bottom up, and it made it to the top...you should be all set.
