Bought the boat a few years back. 16+ feet and a 25 on the back, rated for a 40. The floors are soft so it's time to gut the inside and rework the floor plan. It was a side console, but i am looking into converting it to dual consoles with a windshield. My idea is to move the consoles up a foot from where they originally were in place. I'd appreciate thoughts on if it's a good idea to convert to 2 or stay with the one but moved up a bit to make more room in the back. this will be my 3rd restoration project

Are you changing the Power? Moving the weight forward with only 25hp might change the planing parameters up a bit. That's my thinking. Adding the weight of and additional console will also add to the equation.

I won't be upgrading the motor till next year most likely. I guess what I want to achieve is to eventually add an enclosed bimi top. My other option is to just do the side console and add a wind shield. I know it won't be the fastest boat until it's upgraded to a 40. I am also looking into weather the hulls are the same for the side vs the dual console for that year.

The old flooring was in good enough shape to use as a template. The previous owner had used pressure treated plywood when he redid it some time ago and carpeted over carpet. Still shaking my head on that one. So now that issue is remedied. I finished cutting the new floor sections, sealed them with two coats and let them dry for a few days. Installed the carpeting a few days ago. Bought a cover last night and moved it out form our 10' x 20' shed in a box. I spent the last few days laying out a simple interior design on paper. I decided not to use the existing live well since I usually use my marine cooler with ice in it when I go out.The plan is the have it completed by Sunday if the weather corporates.
