1995 omc king cobra/ water in bellows

I have a 1995 Four Winns 240 horizon with the 454 efi king cobra omc outdrive, engine model number 74fephub. The boat has been in my family since purchased new back in 1995 and it's always been well cared for (always garaged, never in salt water). I know I have one of the dreaded dinosaur setups where parts are hard to come by. My father was good at yearly oil changes, but I'm not sure he has ever had the outdrive pulled/ gimbal bearing replaced, bellows replaced inspected etc. This past month when driving the boat I've noticed some vibrations especially when turning at low speeds. I'm suspecting the u-joints are shot as I've also found water in the bellows and we've noticed water in the bottom of engine bay. I'd imagine I'm going to find a bunch of corosion and rust caused by the water intrusion in the bellows. I've been looking for parts and it looks like I can find new u-joints and gimbal bearings online but I wasn't sure what land mines I might fall into once I decide to pull the drive and was hoping for any words of wisdom before I do so.
