When idling/trolling this weekend, if I held it below 1500rpms for much longer than 10 minutes (slow trolling), it would begin to load up heavily. If I would give it throttle, it would bog for a good 5 or 6 seconds and then take off.
It's apparently a fuel or spark problem. My question is whether or not it's normal to have a problem while trolling with this model engine?
It is probably about due to have the carbs cleaned/rebuilt. The fuel filter is clean, fuel is clean, and I had plenty of pressure. Once I gave it half throttle and it 'cleared up', it ran just fine. Only bogs after idling for a good amount of time.
Any ideas? Sound like a carb or a plug issue? Plugs are relatively new. I've never had the carbs torn down in the 2.5yrs I've owned it and I'm good about keeping gas from sitting in it. But the previous owner may have dirtied them up a bit.
Also have a little bit of trouble starting - have to give it a little bit of gas to get it to kick over. Idles fairly rough, but always has had a bit of a rough idle (bought it used).
Thanks
Shawn
