Alram going off and fells hot to touch. Water flow is fine coming out of the pisser. I think it is the t-stat. How difficult is it to change. Could use some direction. Any help would be appreciated.

How hot to the touch is it. Real warm or extremely hot. It will be hot but you should be able to keep your hand on the motor. A manual will tell you to check with an alternate source to verify the alarm horn. Usually a heat stick or a temp meter. Verify the temp first.

Get a factory service manual and it will give you
exploded diagrams to see if you can get it out. On my old Johnson motor it is fairly easy.

Bam1,

The thermostats on a crossflow V-4 are not easy to change.

They are located between the cylinder heads at the bottom of the block on the rear of the engine.

If you look between the heads, you will see two hoses going from the heads to the thermostat housing. They are under that housing.

It is much easier to get at them if you loosen all the bolts to the lower pan for more clearance.
