I am able to shift the engine into reverse, it will idle, but the throttle won't budge beyond idle. It works fine in forward and neutral, just not in reverse. Any suggestions?
Well it sounds like something has gone wacky in your control box .If it works fine in forward and you get throtle I can't see there being a problem with the linkage at the engine.Check to make sure the warm-up lever isn't coming up in reverse( if you have one ), the cables arn't tied up to tight where they come out of the box .You should also try disconnecting both cables from the engine and see if they move freely.Sometimes to much pre-load at the engine end will make it hard to shift as well.
