1996 15hp Mercury power upgrade??

Hi guys, just wondering if there's a way to increase the horsepower of my 1996 15hp Mercury? Carburettor upgrade maybe?

Any advice would be great. Thanks.

There is no quick and cheap upgrade available.

While it is possible to increase the HP, you won't be happy with how the motor will run at anything other than at High Speed. Reliability and Longevity will suffer too

Cheaper to buy a bigger engine, a set of Decals, and a Model # plate from a scrap 15hp

Maybe I should change the prop to get more top end speed?

Yes you can try a higher pitch prop.-------But have you read up on how to select a prop for a given boat / motor combination , yes or no ?

A prop with more pitch will load the engine more, maybe to the point where the boat speed actually drops
