This motor was idling low so I had the carbs adjusted to where its idling fine now but a problem this didn't fix as I was hoping was that when I take off out of the hole it bogs down sometimes and will actually quit on me if I don't continously push the choke repeatedly until the boat gets on plane. It also does the same thing while trailering the boat. I will have to repeatedly press the choke and hold the throttle open to power load it onto the trailer. It almost seems that when the bow is lifted its being starved from fuel. Any suggestions?

It is fuel starved. Now find the cause. A whole bunch of possibilities including crap in carbs, air leak in fuel system on suction side of pump, blocked tank pickup, bad anti siphon valve, bad fuel pump, etc, etc.

Basically I'm no boat motor mechanic and my current one keeps shying away from addressing the issue stating that its normal for the Intruder/fast strikes. I also noticed that the gas tanks don't seem to hold but maybe 7 or 8 gallons each before they start spewing out the vent caps. Sounds like I need a new mechanic hu?

Boy, I'd say so!! Sounds like he's a parts changer at best. Those are some of, if not the hardest accelerating motors OMC ever came up with. No way is it normal to have to keep bumping the primer to add fuel to accelerate properly. Since he messed with the sync-n-link to set the idle up (not how it's supposed to be done) I'd guess it's messed up. Have a knowledgable tech take a look at it. I'd agree a carb cleaning may be in order, you'll just have to check the carbs.

I will have the carbs checked. Where is the anti siphon valve located and is there anyway to tell if its bad? Is there anyway I can tell if its bad? While at WOT it runs like a champ so I figured it would be starving for fuel than as well.

AS valve is located in the tank outlet. If the tank outlet is below the motor, remove the fitting with the AS valve (the 1st piece connected to the tank outlet. Inside there's a ball and small spring. Don't bother checking ... just drive the ball out with an appropriate sized drift and replace the fitting. No more AS valve! They get hung up fairly often.
