I have a 96 model 48spl, it runs fine all day but when I pull the throttle back to pull it in the slip it dies. It does not get anyfire, but if it sets for a few days it will start and run fine untill I go to pull it back in the slip. Just wonderin what could be causing it to loose fire off and on?? i thought a coil or power pack would just go out.

My first guess would be something in the control. Either the ignition switch or kill switch. You can find out by disconnecting the large, red Amphenol plug which is right under the starter (I think) and jumper the starter solenoid so that the starter spins the motor. If it does start, the only way to kill it is choke it down. Try this and post back and tell us what happened.

c/6

Hooty
