This motor is a 1996 J48ESLEDC. I see there is a short rod that the tilt release lever should be hooked to, but I don't know how it locks. There are two small holes on the side of the bracket about where I think this short rod ends.

I've been trying to knock the big pin out at the bottom of the bracket but no luck yet. It looks like there is a cylinder to keep the motor from dropping too fast.

Is there another way to do it? Thanks.

Oh yeh, salt water.

you have broken the tlit assist cable, which releases the valve on the assist cylinder. you may have to remove the motor to get it off. also that unit is expensive.

Guess you have the Touch Trim system. If so, click the thumbnails, they may help some.
