All-

Finally have everything hooked up electrically on the motor, or at least I thought I did. Turn the key over (remote from controls). In the on position, the four warning light 'tree' on the gage works, all gages come up, turn over to start and absolutely no change - No clicking from the starter like a bad solenoid would in a car, no noise of any kind.

Any suggestions where to start looking?

Thanks.

Make sure all grounds are connected. There is a ground wire that connects to one of the starter solenoid bolts.

Checked and re-snugged all of the bolts, verified the fuse is good. Still nothing. Guess I'll be buying a multimeter.

Also when you do this, make sure if you released the screw on the power tilt and trim to allow it to be moved manually you tighten it up prior to driving yourself nuts trying to figure out why that doesn't work either!!!!!!!!!!!!

For posterity - I looked in the Secret Thread with the FAQ's and the FSM to diagnose the problem (posted here in hopes there was an easier solution;-) Turns out the PO had some kind of remote control system on the engine, found two wires on the ignition that were not connected. Checked with a multimeter, then connected them together. What do you know, engine now turns over.

Back to the FAQs for starting proceedure. Hope I can get it running now!

Thanks.
