Hey everyone. Since I've had the boat the speedometer and fuel gauge have not worked. I've tried clearing out the hole on the outdrive to no avail. Any other suggestions? Also, the fuel gauge doesn't properly work, how or what should I check there?

Ayuh,... pull the hose off the gauge,+ with compressed air, Blow out thru...
Follow to points to the pitot tube...
Also, the fuel gauge doesn't properly work, how or what should I check there?

Find the sending unit in the tank, unhook the lead wire,+ Ground it out, the gauge should Peg full...
Then fix whichever end is broken....

Thanks so much for the help. I'll try to get them fixed this weekend and put a new prop on as well. Boating season is just around the corner!! Can't wait.

Take the hose off both the pitot and the speedo and you should be able to blow through the tube easily. If not your hose may be the problem. Hook the hose to the speedo and blow through that with an air line. If you give it the full force of the compressor you may spin the needle all the way around and it will stick there so be careful. If you can't get it to spin with the compressor but you can still see the needle trying move it may already be spun around. Take the gauge out and the glass face off the gauge and spin the needle backwards. If the needle spins backwards and stays at 0 you may be in luck. Test it again with the air line as you can't blow hard enough to get it to move. I couldn't when I tried with oops gauge. If all that is working just replace the pitot. I could blow through the pitot but it still would not work the gauge. They are only about 10-15 bucks. It took me about an hour to get oops! gauge working on his Bayliner with US Marine gauges. I also got a generic fuel sender from Princess Auto [harbour freight in the US] For $25. Good luck.

If you have the speedo pickup in your lower unit be sure that the hose is in place...it snaps onto it's connector right behind the front stud and nut. This hose has to be disconnected whenever the lower unit is removed, and it may have been left off.

Happy boating!
