Can anyone tell me if and how to remove the rear seats and panal to get to the engine easier. I have a 1996 Chaparral 1930ss. The engine lid is in the middle.

Picture would help but some of the Chappy's have a poor design with the rear seat over the engine hatch. The one's I've seen have locking pins like you find on some bimini tops. Once those pins are removed the seat folds, either upwards or downwards.

No the seat base's are made of plywood and there is a panel that goes across the back. That is made of plywood too. I just thought someone may know how to remove them before I roll up my sleves

Did you ever get around to the rear seat removal? I believe I will need to remove the seat to the left of the engine cover to replace the starter.
