Ok, I'll rephrase my question. Will a 1996 Crossflow intake with 4 nipples for bypass hoses work on a 1985 crossflow block? Dont know how the bypass hoses would go? Have the bypass covers from 96 block which have all but one of the nipple(one is in the 96 block,85 block has no nipples for bypass hoses.)

Bypass hoses can be installed same as 1990, which may be same as 1996, check the OEM manual.

Thanks Clanton, but the problem is the 85 block has no place to put the bypass hoses. No nipples in the bypass covers( I have my 96 bypass covers, starboard side has one nipple). The front half of the 96 crankcase has one nipple on the starboard side, the 85 does not. Kinda hard to figure how to do it, if their needed at all.

Looked at 1985 crankcase and it has the hole at the center main bearing for lube which leads to the cylinder chamber behind the bypass cover. Question is the bypass cover at that location on the 1996 has a nipple for the recirculating hose while the 85 year model does not. Just dont want to put everything back together then lose the crank due to lack of lubrication. Stumped here.

I will look at my notes, and manuals but will take a few days. All of the changes were for better idle.

Thanks Clanton. If better idle is the case I guess I could use the bypass covers from the 96 and run the recur lines and just figure out what to do with the one left that goes into the side of the block(on the 96 but not on the 85)
