Yesterday afternoon, it was running perfectly. Just as it was over the weekend. 1996 Evinrude 112 spl. I get to a dock to pick up a friend and turned off the motor. I took the key out of the ignition, which was rare because I always leave the key in (I bring that up because it is the only think that I did differently). I get back to the boat and it wouldn't start. Cranks and cranks, but zero spark. I don't think it is a power pack or anything like that because of how well the boat has been running. The boat doesn't have an ignition kill switch anymore, it has a different ignition switch. I see 2 yellow wires going to the same post back there (don't know if the yellow wire has anything to do with the kill switch. I looked at the service manual and can't figure out the wiring diagram for the ignition switch.
My thoughts were to run a positive wire from the battery and see if I can use it to tell what may have gone bad, but I don't want to fry anything. Could anyone give me direction towards the wiring on the ignition and what I should maybe check? All of the electrical components work.. starter turns, engine raises and lowers.. just missing spark in all cylinders..
I switched from I/O to OB recently, so I'm lost on this OB motor.
