1996 Evinrude 60 hp lower unit water leak

After a recent trip, I decided to flush the cooling circuit after being in some sandy silt water. I have never noticed this before on the muffs but I had a small stream of water coming from the mating surface between the lower unit and the mid-section, on the starboard side. I proceeded to drain the gearcase oil thinking I might have water in it but there was none so they're obviously separated internally. Can this leak lead to problems? I'm not even sure it's a gasketed interface.

That is normal. The lower unit is sealed from the rest of the motor.
