Alright so i cleaned the surfaces and also sprays WD-40 in each cylinder. I installed the head gasket and torqued everything to spec in the order mentioned in the manual.

I cranked the engine which was very slow to begin with. The compression test results are as follows (From top to bottom):

Cylinder 1: 30 psi
Cylinder 2: 60 psi
Cylinder 3: 125 psi
Cylinder 4: 135 psi

This was with new spark plugs as well. Since it was spinning so slow i went and took the battery to be tested. It was good but needed a charge. Only putting out 265 cca's.

So the battery will charge over night and then i will try it again. Also, the starter would stay stuck in the up position as well. It wouldn't release and drop down all the top and has slowly stopped coming down more rarely now.

I ordered a new starter and it should be here in a few days. I really hope the engine just needs to crank over faster a few more times to get the compression numbers up across all cylinders.

When i cranked the engine without any of the spark plugs in it cranked over fast. With spark plugs in its really groggy and doesn't want to turn very fast at all. Also, i tried to prime the fuel by compressing the primer bulb and no fuel was circulating to the filter. Something else i will have to check on.

This all happened suddenly. I really don't get it.

You removing all the plugs when doing the comp test?

The low comp in 1 or more cyl can cause hard turning over.

The low comp between 2 adjacent cyl. is usually the head gasket.
Now if it was 1 and 3 then that could be something different??

Remove the head and inspect for damage.

Hi Jerry,

Yes, I removed all of the plugs when doing a compression test. I read that in a previous post while doing some digging around on the forums.

So since the compression gradually gets better as it goes down from cylinder, I may have a damaged head.

Im going to pull the head off and inspect. What should I be looking for? Will gasket sealer fix this? Am I looking for eroded rubber walls that channel the water throughout the head?

Thanks!
