I need to convert my long shaft 15hp to a short shaft.....Does anyone know what all is involved....i realize the drive shaft and the shift linkage must be shorter....does the water tube have to be changed as well or does the extension on the lower unit just come out???? AND does anybody have the parts needed to do this conversion???? Thanks Kelly Graham

The short (15") driveshaft is no longer available from Mercury.
So that leaves ebay or scrap yards.
The water tube can easily be shortened.

Hard to do will be to shorten the driveshaft housing, unless the extention is easily removed.

There is a removable section in housing that will make it a short shaft....Just need to find the drive shaft...
