For the second time my motor has left me stranded, this time on an island on lake ouachita. The first time out with this motor I couldn't get it off the trailer due to a blown adapter plate gasket choking the motor out. Pulled the power head replaced it and it just did it again after an hour of running. When I pulled it apart someone had helicoiled on of the bolts on the exhaust port and it appeared as the helicoil sheared. So I got a new kit. Tapped it and put a new coil in. So my question is, is that gasket supposed to go in dry or does it need to be glued in with rtv to help it hold And if it is that helicoil blown out again. What are my options, can I go up another bolt size or what

Silicone it. It doesn't need silicone/ sealer but I'd put it in so you don't have to do it again.
Nothing in the exhaust passage? I found a rag in one motor.

I don't think there is anything in the passage but I'll check. What kind of RTV? Will red high temp work?

After getting it back on the trailer I saw one of the bolts backed out. So I guess I'll try it again with some lock tite this time lol
