what kind of gas consumption should i expect from my 1996 johnson 90 hp motor. I only fish at a local lake. i run back and forth to fishing spots on the lake then end up several hours trolling at idle speed.

I posed the same question about my little 18hp! the rough rule of thumb is 10% of your HP in gallons per hour, on that basis, at WOT, about 9 gals per hour, though I don't know if its much different for four stoke engines. Backing of the revs a little saves a considerable amount of gas!

10% rule would give you a comfy reserve. My 70 HP uses easily less than 5 GPH flat out.
