1996 Mariner 225 carb spark plug question.

My shop manual calls for NGK BPZ8H-N-10 plugs.

The NGK cross reference at the boat store calls for NGK BR8HS.

What is the difference and can I use the BR8HS?

I'm not sure what is currently in the motor and it's a couple of hours away.
I want to try to change them this weekend....

Go to the NGK site and they have a listing of what the numbers mean. Going to bet one is conventional and the other surface gap. Mercs have used surface gaps for OEM equip. (that I know of) since back in the '80's. I used both and like the SGs better and they seem to last longer.

Both are gap plugs and the N-10 plug is a nickel tip to reduce fouling and are about $4 more than the HS plugs

So I can use the HS plugs without risking anything more than the possibility of fouling easier?

I had some money on a gift card and they were an impulse buy....
I was wandering around the store trying to think of stuff I needed. I didn't have the plug number from the shop manual, I had to go by the crossover book.
