Got a 1996 Merc 115 that the horn has an intermittent beep to it, its not a solid beep but a beep,beep,beep. I was wondering what will sound the warning beeper on this motor besides the oil, and how to test it.
On that engine the only sencor that will cause intermittent beeping is in the oil tank. Disconnect 1 of the blue wires at the bottom of the tank, if the beeping stops and you have oil in the tank, the magnet on the float has fallen of and you will wind up changing the tank
