Hi Guys,

Yesterday I decided to go to the lake. Started my boat on the boot. Ran great warmed up and off to the lake I go. After launching the boat, the trim went half way down and stopped working. Boat started and ran fine. After throttleing up, noticed that trim wasn't working. Killed boat to work on the trim. I was unable to get the trim to work so decided to go back to the marina and trailer the boat. I tried to start the boat but nothing. Turn the key and no power. Boat would not start, turn over or anything.

I was able to take a screw driver and jump the starter and the boat would turn over but would not start. I checked the main breaker at the engine and it appears to be good. I checked all the fuses under the dash and they all look good. I'm at a loss. Any help is appreciated.

1996 Glastron SSV 175 Mercruiser 3.0L Engine serial number is 0F130289.

Are the battery cables clean and TIGHT ? and I don't mean tight with your fingers and a wing nut. Use some pliers and get them tight.

Thanks for the reply Don. Yes the cables are tight. I attempted to take the dash off in an attempt to check the key switch but I can't get to the wires. After putting the dash back together and giving up, I turned the key just to see what happened. It fired up. Started and shut off several times and seems to be starting/ running fine. Back to the original problem though. Trim wont go up or down. Checked the fuse and it's fine. It's tight on the battery. Any ideas?
