1996 mercury oil injection runs hot a slow speed

can any one tell me why my 50 hp merc runs hot when at a slow speed coming into the channel it runs nice and cool when full speed and has alot of water coming out from the pump at full speed and slow speed thanks

When is the last time the impeller and thermostat was replaced?

im not sure just bought the motor about a month ago i quess i should change them thanks
