1996 Mercury tilt and trim leaking from weep hole

there is a weep hole on the bottom of the unit that when operating the unit it pours out of the hole. This started after a descent log hit. I pulled it apart and replaced what I rings I could find and don’t see any issues. Put it back to whether and the problem still persists. Any clue what this hole on the bottom indicates?

Ended up finding a little stainless ball on the ground under the motor. Must of been resting on the anode plate. Fits perfectly in what I though was a weep hole. Problem solved. Taped in back in the hole and put a drop of expoy over it. I’m assuming it popped out when we smacked that log. Luckily it stayed on the anode plate all the way home. Hope this can help someone in the future.
