Sorry if this is a silly question. But what is the operating temp for a 97 4.3? Mine runs at 180 but will hit 190 at a idle. When I get moving the temp will drop. I have had the boat for about 4 years. I am wondering if my impeller is going out. But I just want to make sure I don't want to be spending time to fix something that isn't broke.
If it is the impeller it's a belt drivin water pump in the front of the engine. How hard is it to replace. I have already replaced me exhaust manifold and fuel pump on the engine so I know my way around the engine somewhat. But I wouldn't call myself a mechanic
