I need help wireing a universal voltage regulator 01-090-1 on my motor. i have read all the post about this. It has two yellow wires and one black and one black with white stripe. If I hook the yellow to my stator the wires get hot and no Dc voltage on eather black wires.
Please Help.

Do you have a picture? You should not have any DC voltage on the black wires. You should have 12 volts on the red wire. The black wire goes to ground or the engine block.

Just looked at a picture of the regulator. Doesn't look like it has a red wire. I would assume that the black wire with the stripe is most likely where you should see 12 volts. A picture would be helpful.

I checked restance between the yellow wires i read 0 ohms shorted and 0 ohms between the black with stripe and the black wire. What do you think?

Are the yellow wires connected to the stator when measuring?

Looks like you've got a bad voltage regulator.
