For 3 yrs i have been experiencing power loss,most recent after running 3-4 miles i go from 5200 rpm to about 2400 like that.I leave the boat sit awhile & it repeats the cycle.I have replaced the stator and was very disappointed to find out it wasn't the problem.I checked the fuel lines,put a new bulb in,compression is good & i have plenty of spark.The first year i had the boat i found some burnt wires between the rectifier and the stator,i blamed the zip tie for cutting into bullet connectors causing wires to arc.wires haven't burned again after 3 yrs.could this problem be the trigger or the cdm's?I ordered 20 off ebay for the price of 1,so if you know anyone that needs some i will give them a heck of a deal.I hope someone can give me some good advice. thanks

You probably have a CDM that's bias is failing when warm and shutting down 2 of the other cyls. it will probably need to go to a service shop, as changing parts gets very expensive

thanks for your reply,The next thing i'm gona do is put new cdm's in i ordered some in,got a good deal so i figured to change them all.Unless you think i shouldn't.

I hate to see anyone just changing parts, Probably just one would fix it if you had the time to switch it around till you found the bad one. Here's the CDI test for the system, I have used it and it worked well for me on all but one engine and the Mercury test didn't find it either. I had to use the wiring diagrams to figure it out.

thanks alot.one more thing spark seems strong on #2 cyl and weak on 1&3 spark test is at least 7/16 in.#2 shocked the heck out of me 1&3 didn't.your help is appreciated thanks
