1997 9.9 Nissan Stick Stear Running Funny

I have a 9.9 that is having some issues. It cranks ok with choking it usually once. I have to push the throttle up, choke it and then it will start. Once it is started, I can throttle it to 100% and it will continue to run even down to an idle. Once it is in gear it will only run at about 20% when I have it "floored." I have cleaned the carb, lines, new filter on the tank line. I dont know what else it would be. So basically the engine runs great when not in gear, but when u put a load on it, it only runs at about 20%.

HELP!!!

You have to determine if the fuel system, ignition system or mechanical system is at fault. Whip out the old service manual, pick one of the systems(hint-start with fuel) and start testing.

Thanks for the post!! However, i bought this boat/motor used about 10 years ago and it did not come with a manual. Any idea where I can get one? Preferably a download.

Manuals are not available as a download due to copyright infringement. However, you can order one from any Nissan or Tohatsu dealer.
