Disconnected the vro a while back and now the fuel pump is getting weak. Premixing fuel but having a tough time figuring out what fuel pump to put on it. Model number J90eleuc. Want the old fashioned pump that runs off the pulse. Not spending $400+ on a pump. Racerone, Joe Reeves or the old standbys help will be appreciated.

You could just rebuild the fuel side of the VRO the kits are available which is the best solution. If that is a 60 deg looper motor I have never seen one with a regular pump. Then you will need the pump from the 3 cylinder looper commercial motor. Or If you don't want the 3 banger pump get a crossflow 4 cylinder pump and tap the back for an elbow then run your pulse line. it is a 90 deg cross flow just get the pump off of the budget version like the SPL.

That is a 60 degree looper.----I know what pump I would install from the shed at no cost.----Can't remember what model motor but know it could pump lots of fuel.

Thanks guys, looks like I will just rebuild it. Probably cheaper in the long run

Yep it is a looper. Found replacement pumps but they don't work on the 60 degree engines. Reading about rebuild kits it seems that half the reviews say the rebuild kits are junk. Any good experiences from you guys?

I ditched my VRO and bought a generic brand standalone. I got the version that gets its pulse from the block and plugged the VRO pulse port with a 1/8 inch brass plug. Simpler is better in my opinion. Interestingly, when I disassembled the VRO, there was no obvious damage. All gaskets and diaphragms were perfect. I don't think a rebuild kit would have saved mine. Maybe the casings slightly warp and cause leaks?

TMW123-----The 60 degree looper does not have a pulse port to directly mount a fuel pump to.

Because you have a looper motor the 3 cylinder pump will work because it has an external nipple for the pressure pulse. Or you can use the 4 cylinder crossflow pump and drill and tap the back for an elbow. Or you can find the non oiling VRO pump that is about half the price of the regular VRO.

Found the non oiling pumps. Very interesting and glad someone makes them and they are half the price. The problem is I can't get one here by Wednesday as non of the companies I found have 2 day shipping. It would be Friday before it gets here and I was planning on leaving before then for a fishing trip. I am taking it off today and will see if it is a diaphram or something else that the naked eye can't see and go from there. Flyingscott do you have a part number for the 3 cyl pump? I can't seem to find it and don't want to drill and tap.
Again, you guys thanks.
