I was pegging the water pressure gauge at 3K+ RPM the last outing. Pulled the thermostats and they where OK. Pulled the tell tale and didn't find a restriction. Went to pull the pressure relief valve and found what looks like some sort of a sealer being used as a cover gasket. I didn't tear it down without a new gasket or sealer in hand.
They show a seal in the assembly but no cover gasket. What sealer should I use? Is there anything else that would cause the water pressure to be so high?
