I have a 1997 Evinrude Intruder 150hp. i seem to be having some problem and dont know whats going on. can this motors oil\fuel ratio get out of wack with it being oil injected? seems to be getting an incredible amount of oil or not enough fuel..im hoping to get a carb rebuild kit and clean them next weekend. i was thinking if i could disable the oil injection to eliminate more possible problems? i read the top secret file on how to do this. just double checking and making sure i can do this on my motor. thanks for the input

With an OMS system - Lots of oil is usually air leaking in to the fuel line.

To elaborate on what Richard said. I recommend you check all gasoline connections for air leaks. Check the mainstrainer under the airbox, as well as primer bulb joints, water seperator (fuel filter) connections and fuel tank conections. The OMS system is a very good system. I would recommend you verify the gasoline line has no air leaks, before trashing it.

the OMS is not that much better than the old VROs in my opinion. an over priced piece of crap. I see them go bad constantly, just replaced the one on my dads 99 130 jonny. I am a premix guy. to answer your question you cut the line and plug it, but as mentioned you should defiantly check out your fuel lines and connections and filters and tank vent and tank pick-up.
