We just installed a new fuel pump trying to fix the no oil light coming on and motor not staying alive. Pump is working now, but won't idle. We have to push the gas to get it to stay running. It's missing on the bottom two cylinders. We unplugged them and it would still run with no change. Wouldn't run with top two unplugged. So that led us to believe the bottom coil was bad. I tried two old coils that had come off it previously when they went bad thinking at least one might still be ok. Didn't work. There is fuel getting to them from what we could see with air breather off. Has to be spark related right? Could still be a bad coil right? We ran it around the lake this morning thinking we could get all the oil out of the carbs from when the pump went bad, but wouldn't get over 4000 rpms. Never would idle and we were running on two cylinders the whole time I'm sure. Would a new coil be first to try?

Ttt

Well, just tried again and it will run on the just the bottom two as well as just the top two. So am I safe to assume that the coils are ok? I'm about to PULL MY HAIR OUT! there is a lot of oil coming out of the prop that I'm assuming is from unburned gas/oil. It has brand new plugs and the top two are way darker than the bottom two.

Update: Went out a few minutes ago to start it up. It started up and idled fine for about 10 seconds then dropped down again. I didnt have to give it any gas this time. So I unplugged the top two plugs and could not get it to fire at all on just the bottom two. Plugged them all in and ran it for a few seconds to blow out any unburned oil. Unplugged the bottom two and it would run on just the top two. It HAS to be a that bottom coil! The bottom two plugs look so clean. Is that normal if they aren't firing?
